“I was a bit excited to watch the Pinoy Dream Academy Awards night that I kept on watching my cellphone while I was attending a church program last night. I was crossing my fingers that Laarni was the Scholar B who was holding the most number of text votes.”

I personally want her to win because I think she deserves the title, and she proved to everyone that she is a survivor,and indeed she is, she was, she will be.

For 13 weeks i managed to spend my nights watching her performances, how she cried, screamed, and believed. I am working in a call center here in Davao City and my shift is 4 am so i have to wake up as early as 3 am or even more earlier. However, I don’t care if i would only have 5 hours sleep or less aslong as I continue watching this woman survived from the pangs of those people angst who are trying to down her by giving her a more difficult assignments compared to others.

Anyway, I went home and i was glad that the awards night was not started yet. My mama’s bet is Bugoy, however, she said that Laarni has this big chance to sweep the title from him, but deep down inside I know this woman would make it, thus she will be the Pinoy Dream Academy season 2 Grand Star Dreamer, the next big thing!

The opening number was excellent. Vina Morales, showed a lot of spunk and energy, a total performer indeed accompanied with the Top 3 girls Laarni, Liezel, and Cris. Wency Cornejo as well displayed his plum in singing together with the top 3 Boys Miguel, Bugoy, and Van.

I made a poll on my blog about who deserved to be the next grand star dreamer, and Bugoy topped as the poll closed having 29 %, followed by Laarni with 25 %. Van was on the third spot with 21 %, Liezel was on the 4th slot with 15 %, Miguel earned 12 % to keep the 5th spot, and Cris had 10 % and fixed her on the last slot.

Prior to the Poll’s closing, Laarni led the survey displaying 26 % , followed by Bugoy with 24 % who struggled to maintain the 2nd slot and was strongly being contested by Van Roxas with 23%. Liezel was still on the 4th spot with 11 %, followed by Miguel with 9 %, and Cris with 7 %.

However, the night was about to start in creating a new history, and my poll was getting there.

The result was about to be revealed and the people had chosen…THE WORLD HAD SPOKEN.

The top six was declared, and Cris was it. No doubt about it, on my poll Cris was pulling a very low turn out, and the reality has been revealed. Cris earned only 1.97 % or 36 , 487 votes.

The tension continues, as the Top 5 was revealed. Though one of the strongest scholars in my Poll, the people had decided to put Van Roxas on the 5th position by giving him 6.06 % or 112, 065 votes.

My nerves were starting to shiver. I kept pressing my palms, and my heart was pumping drastically having a convulsion, a paroxysm deep down inside.

I was thinking that, Miguel could be a dark horse on this competition. I was not closing my mind for possible ideas that this man could possibly sweep and be able to penetrate the Top 3. And, i was right. The top 3 position was ardently contested by Miguel and Liezel however, the former managed to outclass the latter. Liezel had 13.3 % or 247,346 votes not enough to penetrate the 3rd position which Miguel by a surprise did, displaying 13.69 % or 253, 412. The statistics showed that liezel even told and believed to be the star dreamer by the PDA 2 mentors, was not realized after the people decided to shut her only on the 4th slot.

Now, only two remained standing.

Bugoy and Laarni.

And that was it, the people had chose, the grand star dreamer had been named.

Laarni garnered an impressive 35.21 % or 651, 696 votes was the new Pinoy Dream Academy season 2 Grand Star Dreamer, over Bugoy that eraned 29.07 % or 549,760.

As Laarni was called, I was a bit teary-eyed watching her sing her manalig ka. She was definitely a survivor. Though many had tried to pull her down,Many had tried to use her attitude as to balance the vote, many had tried to give her a big disagreement about her performances, PEOPLE DEFINITELY DID NOT SEE THOSE THINGS, instead those made them spend their money to make this 23 year old woman from Sultan Kudarat, the place down under to be the next big singing star.
